Artist's Description

This was just after sunset, at the amphatheater area in Caprock Canyons State Park. This area has a great view of the red canyons and is one of my favorite places in the park. If you know anything about the Cherokee and how they hunted Bison, then you know what this iron sculpture depicts.

About Melany Sarafis

Melany Sarafis

Melany Sarafis served her country for 24 years and recently retired from the USAF as a First Sergeant. I've have been an avid photographer for a few years and enjoy this "internal" creative process and I was a full time student at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Tx, pursuing a BFA in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Photography and Jewelry/Metalsmith Work. After taking an Art History course and learning a little about the Renaissance, I've become enamored with this art era. I took a trip to Florence Italy (the home of the Renaissance)...
