This is Caprock Canyons bathed in moonlight. It was almost 11:00 PM, and the moon was lighting up the landscape nicely.
It didn't bother me being down in the riverbed alone -- until I saw those glowing eyes looking at me. And heard the numereous coyotes howl not too far away. And then there was the "clomp clomp clomp" of something running across the rocks!
In reality, the only animals near me were mosquitoes and deer, but it was getting a little creepy alone so I packed up and left. I really need to find a shooting partner :-)
Melany Sarafis served her country for 24 years and recently retired from the USAF as a First Sergeant. She thinks it's really stupid when photographers refer to themselves in the 3rd person on their biographies. I needed to do something "low speed" after a successful but stressful military career.
